WHAT MAGDA THINKS

This article talks about "Why millennials simply can't stop talking about their sex lives" by Rachel Thompson who is the UK Lifestyle Correspondent at Mashable and it is a text to all the readers of Mashable.

The writer begins to catch the attention of the readers by telling them her story. One day without realising she ends up talking about a sexual experience that she had to her new housemate, she barely knew anything about her. And she only realises it when her housemate told her that she wasn't interested to know about it.

After that, she adds a more scientifically view in the article saying "...social media has had a huge impact on how we understand privacy, says sociologist Dr David Beer of the University of York."

Ending the article with a reflection about the confessional society that we are, we cannot save anything to us, privacy these days' means to share everything.

In my opinion, people nowadays with social media don't know what privacy really means. The only worry that we have is to share. The more things that our virtual friends knows (showing that they know by liking and commenting our photos) the more satisfied we get.

The fact is that we shouldn't care only about sharing. We may think that this "sharing thing" approximates people, however we have to think that we are talking to someone that is behind a screen, we don't know their real intentions. We can say that we have many virtual friends, in real life that means that we are lonely.

In this object we see a news that show us how media affects the interpersonal relations, the title is "How Instagram notifications made my breakup even more unbearable" by Rachel Thompson who is the UK Lifestyle Correspondent at Mashable and it is a text to all the readers of Mashable.

As always Rachel captures the attention of the readers by starting her articles with a personal story. She tells a story about her breakup and how Instagram made it unbearable. Instagram is an application that permits users to share pictures and videos, also it allows them to like photos of others users (usually their friends and families). However, Instagram also allows you to see what your followers like in the "following" section. For Rachel that section let her see how her ex-boyfriend was liking other girl photos and that was how she found out that he was dating a girl.

This type of behaviour has been classified as "interpersonal electronic surveillance" and this article demonstrates very well how media affect interpersonal relations. In the case of Rachel it made her breakup more painful, but also made her understand that her relationship with that guy it was over, accepting that she needed to move on.

There is always a good and bad part about things that we find out in media, especially things that we find out about people that we know, it may be hard to find this things online but it is good at the same time so we can know how some people really are.
